about

So I wrote this song wayyyyy back in 1986 -ish. A pretty cheesy bunch of lyrics but it bounced along nicely and was considered, by some, to be a potential hit. Which didnt happen. Obviously. :D
Do forgive the assorted grunts, growls and howls toward the end. Evidently I was not well at the time.
We were called White As Red then.

lyrics

I Just Fell In Love
Music and Lyrics by Mark Robinson
Copyright SmallBoy Songs 1988

I was going home; I was on a train.
I was all alone and I was reading the paper.
It ocurred to me as it began to rain
You and I should meet; it should be sooner than later.

I didn't know it till a push came to a shove
I didn't know it then but I just fell in love.
I had this shiny feeling like the stars above
I gave in to it then and I just fell in love.

I thought I'd take a walk; I passed by your street.
I thought that we should talk, but then that made me feel nervous.
I should ask you out for something to eat.
Maybe to that place - but that's got terrible service.

I ran past your gate. It helped me pass the time.
I had a plan to make. Maybe I'd send you some flowers.
I called you on the phone; you had the busiest line.
I tried it off and on but I was waiting for hours.

Maybe its time to take some stronger action,
Maybe its time to guage out your reaction.
Maybe its worth a call to state my end;
Maybe its worth a call to your best friend.
Maybe its best to take a chance and fall;
Maybe its best to not see you at all.
Maybe you'll call, maybe you'll call.

I can hear the ringing on the telephone.
I can hear you pick it up and say 'hello '.

Now down the line I stammered on the phone :
"Are you feeling fine?"
You said you'd check with me later.
What a blow to me. You must have heard me moan.
I told you where I'd be and now we're happy together.
